We celebrate Chinese New Year with MINDS

Staff kick-start the year with the first corporate social responsibility (CSR) outreach on 22 January 2016.

As part of our 10th year celebration, staff spent an eventful day with Movement for the Intellectually Disable of Singapore (MINDS) clients through a series of activities. Staff interacted and engaged with 27 intellectually disabled clients aged between 9 to 54 years old from Me Too! Club, Children’s Wing, and MINDSVille Home at MINDSVille @ Lorong Napiri with a positive spirit of giving back and showing that we care.

This year, Chinese New Year was celebrated in volunteer-fashion as we embrace the community through themed activities like lantern making using angbaos, sing-a-long session, games as well as the traditional and much celebrated lo-hei. It was a memorable experience as the team brought smiles to the group of clients while making them feel inclusive. This initiative also delivered many learning outcomes and changing mindsets, as individuals connected with each clients through their physical presence and encouragements.

The event did not ended with a goodbye, but with a see you later.

From all of us at Newcastle Australia IHE, we wish you happiness, good health and an abundance of wealth this new year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
