Graduate Certificate in Health Economics, Management and Policy

Course Requirements

To complete the program, students must pass modules totalling 40 units, consisting of 10 units of core modules and 30 units of directed modules. Each module is 10 units unless stated otherwise.

Course Learning Outcomes

Specialised knowledge of theories, models and concepts relevant to health economics, management and policy and be proficient in their application.
Expertise in applying research principles and methods to conduct substantial health economics, management and policy projects.
Cognitive, technical and creative skills to support the recognition, definition, analysis, and solving of complex health economics, management and policy problems: successes and, more importantly, failures.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Critical analytical and decision-making skills that incorporate ethical, social and global issues about health economics, management and policy.
Awareness of and openness to self-reflection and their impact on those they seek to influence.

Entry Requirements

MINIMUM ACADEMIC LEVEL

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or higher in any discipline;
    or
  • Minimum age 30 years old and 8 years of relevant work experience*

*Relevant organisational experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in business, management, health, IT, social services, and governance/policy professions. Work experience can be demonstrated through: certified copies of all relevant qualifications, a detailed CV, and a statement of service or signed letters from employers confirming your role, duties and period of employment.

MINIMUM LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

  • Applicants for this program must satisfy a minimum English Language Proficiency Standard equivalent to an IELTS overall minimum of 6.5 with no subtest result below 6.0.

Fees
