Leading Sustainability Transitions: Risk, Collaboration and Technology

Organised in collaboration with the Academy of Global Business Research and Practice (AGBRP), the 18th International Conference, titled “Leading Sustainability Transitions: Risk, Collaboration, and Technology,” took place from 4 January to 6 January 2024 at PSB Academy, boasting a participation of over 100 attendees.

The primary focus of the conference was to explore innovative practices and models in collaboration, leadership, and innovation, with the goal of enhancing business capabilities, resilience, and fostering sustainable outcomes.

 

Collaboration for Sustainable Transitions

 

The three-day event kicked off with an in-depth exploration of topics relating to climate change and food security. Prof Cheong Koon Hean, non-resident Ambassador to Finland and Chair of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities at SUTD, delivered a thought-provoking keynote address titled “Pathways to Net Zero: Integration and Collaboration for Success.” Grant ‘Upbeat’ Bosnick, Managing Director of YES, also delivered a keynote address on the theme “Tomorrow’s Leader: Bridging Personal Integrity with Global Sustainability.” These illuminating presentations set the tone for the conference, offering valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainability.

Roundtable sessions on Day 1 centred around the topics relating to climate change and food security.

 

The program further included two engaging roundtable sessions featuring distinguished speakers representing diverse fields. These sessions provided a platform for interactive discussions on critical issues related to sustainability, allowing participants to exchange ideas and perspectives on how to address the multifaceted challenges ahead.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit Schneider Electric’s Innovation Hub.

Risk, Resilience, Technology and Sustainable Transitions

 

On the second day of the conference, keynote speeches on the topic of “Risk, Resilience, Technology and Sustainable Transitions” were delivered by Dr Shonali Krishnaswamy, Chief Technology Officer at AiDA Technologies; Mr Alister Stewart, Principal of Sustainability Business at Schneider Electric Asia Pte Ltd; and Mr Ranghan Venkatraman, Chief Executive Officer of Rezilyens. Following these addresses, a roundtable session ensued. 

The Role of Education in Sustainable Transitions

 

On the final day of the event, a subsequent roundtable session featuring panelists from the educational institutions – Dr Viva Sinniah, Executive Chairman of PSB Academy; Dr. Lucia Vilcekova, Vice Dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Management, Comenius University Bratislava, Slovakia; and Prof Julia Connell, Acting PVC and CEO of Newcastle Australia, was held. The central theme of their discussion revolved around “The Role of Education in Sustainable Transitions.”
