DEFEND: Develop Enterprise-ready Future Experts for Next-gen Defence

In today’s environment, defence is no longer limited to physical infrastructure or military systems. Organisations also need professionals who can protect digital assets, strengthen cyber resilience, support sound decision-making, and understand the human factors that shape security, risk, and leadership. The DEFEND Scholarship supports eligible applicants from our partner network to upskill in Cyber Security or Business Psychology.

What DEFEND is

DEFEND is a partner-supported scholarship that helps eligible applicants pursue study in Cyber Security or Business Psychology, with the goal of building enterprise-ready capability for today’s defence, security, and resilience needs across public, private, and critical infrastructure sectors.

Scholarship benefit: DEFEND provides a 50% tuition grant for eligible applicants (terms, eligibility, and award availability apply).

Why DEFEND exists

Modern defence and security challenges require more than technical knowledge alone. Organisations need people who can respond to cyber threats, strengthen operational resilience, understand human behaviour, and contribute to secure, high-performing environments. DEFEND aims to:

  • build stronger cyber, security, and resilience capability across organisations

  • support professional development for those contributing to defence-related, risk-sensitive, or mission-critical environments

  • strengthen the pipeline of enterprise-ready talent equipped for both technical and people-centred challenges

  • grow a community of practice that supports safer, more resilient, and future-ready organisations

Who DEFEND is for

DEFEND is suitable for eligible applicants from our partner community, including:

  • IT, cyber security, and digital risk professionals

  • managers and decision-makers responsible for resilience, governance, or risk

  • professionals working in defence-related, critical infrastructure, or security-sensitive sectors

  • HR, organisational development, and people leaders supporting workforce resilience and performance

  • individuals seeking to deepen expertise in cyber security, behavioural insight, leadership, or organisational effectiveness in high-stakes environments
