Built Environment Forum 2019

In the recent Regional Built Environment Forum  (BEF) 2019 held on 3-4 June, Australia showcased its industry strengths in the built environment field.

Organised by the Australian High Commission in Singapore, together with the Australian Trade & Investment Commission (Austrade) and CSIRO, the forum also featured Australia’s capabilities and highlighted how Australian companies and organisations can support ASEAN’S unfolding urbanisation story.

Significant urbanisation is underway in Southeast Asia. By 2030, an additional 90 million people are forecast to move to ASEAN cities. These urban populations are expected to triple by 2050. This growth presents opportunities for Australia, which has experience in providing for the expanding needs of cities confronting urbanisation challenges.

We are proud to have Dr Farnaz Arefian, Lecturer for the UON B. of Construction Management (Building) (Hons) pictured above (third from right), as part of the panel member discussing future skills and education at the forum.
