Biography

Dr Sean Lee is an experienced academic leader and applied organisational psychologist with over a decade of cross-sector experience spanning higher education, psychology research, people analytics, and organisational development. He has held teaching and leadership positions at Singapore Management University (SMU), James Cook University (JCU), and Prep-Zone Academy Singapore before joining Newcastle Australia Institute of Higher Education, where he currently serves as Head of PEI Programs and Program Coordinator for the Master of Business Psychology (MBP).

Dr Lee plays a key role in academic governance, curriculum strategy, and quality assurance. His prior roles include Acting Academic Head, Learning and Teaching Coordinator, and Work-Integrated-Learning Coordinator. He regularly represents academic leadership at learning and assessment board meetings, led academic development initiatives, and plays a substantive role in upholding teaching excellence and mentoring early-career educators across culturally diverse contexts.

In addition to his academic leadership, Dr Lee maintains strong industry engagement and relations through his role as Founder of Global Alliance Consultancy Group (GACG), a collaborative network of professionals from firms such as PwC, KPMG, and BHG. GACG focuses on workplace wellness, organisational development, and people analytics. These engagements inform his pedagogy and strategic planning with practical, industry-aligned insight. 

Dr Lee’s research focuses on enhancing creativity, psychological well-being, and measurement validation. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals (e.g. Psychiatry Research, Scientific Reports, European Journal of Work and Organisational Psychology, Journal of Research in Personality, Journal of Creative Behavior, etc.), contributed to multi-lab replication projects, and regularly serves as a reviewer for journals including Organisational Psychology Review and the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology. He is a full member of both the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), and currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Asian Journal of Social Psychology.

A committed educator and global pedagogical contributor, Dr Lee was awarded 2nd place at the 2024 CEE Transformative Education Conference and chaired a session at the International Management and Organisational Behavior Teaching Society (IMOBTS) conference the same year. He remains an active voice in academic innovation, curriculum reform, and learning and teaching leadership.
