Biography

Dr Ang Yee Gary is a sessional Program Coordinator at the Newcastle Australia Institute of Higher Education with extensive experience in healthcare, public health, and higher education. He is a medically trained clinician and health systems professional with a strong interdisciplinary background spanning clinical medicine, public health, business administration, and health economics. He teaches and coordinates postgraduate modules in health plan design, payment systems, and healthcare management, with a focus on translating complex health system concepts into practical, real-world applications for working professionals.

Dr Ang’s academic and professional work integrates health services research, clinical practice, and educational leadership. He has led and contributed to numerous research projects and publications in areas such as health system performance, chronic disease management, cost-effectiveness analysis, and healthcare innovation. In addition to his academic role, he has held senior positions in healthcare organisations, where he has been involved in strategic planning, clinical innovation, and the application of data-driven approaches to improve population health outcomes.

His research interests centre on value-based healthcare, health financing and payment models, healthcare innovation and digital health, and the use of data science and artificial intelligence in clinical and population health settings.
