Alumni Committees

Whether through professional interests, shared experiences or community leadership, our volunteer-led networks provide alumni in Singapore with meaningful ways to stay connected.

Singapore Alumni Chapter Committee

Singapore has a very active alumni chapter currently led by Ms Joy Li (President) that fosters lifelong connections with University of Newcastle graduates and friends. The committee organises three to four events annually, ‘for Alumni, by Alumni’, bringing together a diverse group of graduates from various programs and years. These events are designed to forge new connections, share industry insights, and strengthen ties to the University, all with the support of the University of Newcastle, Australia.

UONS BEnvOHS Alumni

UONS offers the Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (BEnvOHS) program in the Singapore campus since year 2002. This was the first bachelor’s degree program in Singapore and in the region that encompasses both Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (EHS). Over the years, graduates from the program had contributed significantly to the local industry.

In year 2009, the program was admitted as a recognised qualification by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Singapore for the registration of local Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) professionals. In the same year, the program also became an accredited qualification with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), UK.

The UON BEnvOHS Alumni was first proposed in year 2010, with the purpose of forming a professional networking group for all alumni. An invitation for a steering committee was extended to all graduates and existing students of the program.

Singapore Network for Inclusive Learning

The Singapore Network for Inclusive Learning (SNIL) is a dynamic community of professionals and advocates dedicated to promoting transformative practices in inclusive education. The network comprises a passionate group of alumni and students from the University of Newcastle’s Master of Special and Inclusive Education program.
