Biography

Swee Yu is a seasoned IT leader with over 25 years of experience in the public sector. As Director of IT at a statutory board, he spearheaded strategic enterprise IT projects, led ISO 9001-9002 certification efforts, and implemented a robust IT Business Continuity Plan. As Chairman of the IT Security Steering Committee, he shaped and enforced IT policies to enhance organisational accountability. Beyond the public sector, Swee Yu has provided private IT consultancy services, leveraging technology as a strategic business enabler. Under a Ministry of Foreign Affairs programme, he conducted productivity improvement classes on e-services and e-government for key foreign government delegates. He possesses considerable teaching experience, having delivered a range of specialised courses including Project Management, The Digital Economy, Business Analysis, Professional Practice in IT, and Database & Information Management at the University of Newcastle (Australia), Singapore. His academic portfolio also encompasses teaching stints with Edith Cowan University, Coventry University, and the University of Greenwich, where he lectured on subjects such as Software Engineering, Enterprise Data, and IT Planning. Swee Yu is a certified Senior Project Manager and serves as a member of the Certification in IT Project Management (CITPM) Board of Assessors at the Singapore Computer Society.
