Program Overview

The Master of Cyber Security equips career switchers and working professionals with the in-demand skills to transition into the fast-growing cybersecurity field and tackle today’s evolving digital threats. The program has been developed in response to a sharp rise in cyber incidents across industries and a growing demand in Singapore and globally for job-ready security talent across government, finance, healthcare, and technology. Graduates will gain a practical, in-depth foundation in protecting systems and data, assessing risk, responding to incidents, and applying security principles in real-world environments.

What You Will Study

To complete the program, students must pass modules totalling 160 units, consisting of 80 units of Core Modules and 80 units of Non-Specialisation Modules (including the COMP6900 Computing Project – 20 units). Each module is 10 units unless stated otherwise.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Academic Level

  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree (AQF 7 level) or higher in a related discipline* may apply for up to 80 units of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) towards the program;
    or
  • Applicants who have completed the UON Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security are eligible for admission to the Master of Cyber Security and will receive 40 units of credits towards the program;
    or
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, applicants who are at least 30 years old, possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant* work experience, and hold professional qualifications may be considered.

* Related fields: cyber security, computer science, software engineering, computer systems, and information technology.

** Prospective students who would like their work experience to be considered, please provide certified copies of all relevant qualifications, a detailed CV, a statement of service or signed letters from employers confirming your role, duties and period of employment.

(Students who apply with a Graduate Diploma/Graduate Certificate/Bachelor Honours Degree/Bachelor degree in the discipline of Cyber Security will be eligible for exemptions)

Minimum Language Proficiency

Applicants for this program must satisfy a minimum English Language Proficiency Standard equivalent to an IELTS overall minimum of 6.5 with no subtest result below 6.0.

Fees are subjected to prevailing Goods and Service Tax (GST) and are payable on a modular basis before commencement of Trimester. The fees include all course materials but exclude textbooks (if applicable). Refer here for other miscellaneous fees.
